I have been creating web sites for over 10 years and have a wide range of clients from individuals through small businesses to educational institutions. I also teach web design and, as Chairman of the Eastern Region E-learning Forum, advise on how to use today's technology effectively in education and also in communicating business ideas and information. Educated at St Albans School and with lots of experience in business and marketing, I try to combine the best of traditional good design with simple modern techniques.

My Studyzone site was one of the first on-line collections of resources for students and is still going strong and regularly used.

Other interests

I am a writer, with three novels currently being considerd for publication and a host of articles on whatever attracts my interest. I am also currently working with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training and associated organisations, whose sites I designed, and am a member of the Companion Animal Welfare Committee. I believe strongly in using Plain English and offer services in editing documents to make them make sense as well as correcting grammar and spelling mistakes. Based in Astcote, Northamptonshire, I love the countryside and when I'm not teaching or driving to and from Colleges you'll find me there, probably at a computer, drawing or writing something!

My fees are very reasonable as I love the work that I do. Income from most web design and similar activities helps with children's clothes and dentists' bills but I am considering reducing my teaching to part-time so that I can take on more work in future. I can also handle complicated tasks with a team of geeks and technical wizards available when required.

Kennel & Cattery Management: Sample 1

The first design has a brown and cream theme with a simple vertical menu for the main sections. The photograph is part of the main design so, whilst it can be changed from page to page, the idea is that something that reflected the magazine and business well could be used and would be the same throughout.

Some sample links have been included for some Classified ads and an example of how an article might be displayed. Generally, the main information is on the left with further links or a summary on the right.

The second sample is lighter and uses pale green and a cheeful blue and brown throughout. The menu comprises seven horizontal tabs for the main sections.

In this example it is quite simple to change the main picture on any page. Generally, the right hand column of each page contains the text, images and information and the left column can be used either for quick reference, links elsewhere or additional information. Some sample classified ads and an article page have been included.
